if you were looking for a cheesy story about a long-distance romance, i’m afraid i'll have to disappoint you. this one's about my troublesome friends and the distance that separates us.
back in the day, we used to huddle close to one another, sharing laughter and snacks. no matter how far our homes were from one another, we knew that the distance didn't matter as we'd all end up together in the same class anyway.
but now, from an arm's length, we find ourselves half a world apart.
the distance between us has grown greater than ever before. we're on opposite sides of the world, moving in different directions, residing not just in different cities, but different countries with distinct time zones.
yet, despite the physical distance, we feel even more connected than before, as if the distance didn't break our friendship, but instead brought us closer.
distance makes us view each other through a new lens. as we embark on separate journeys, each carving out a unique path in life, we realize that we are no longer just classmates, but rather, amateur grown-ups seeking our place in the world.
distance makes us cherish our friendship even more, motivating us to put in the extra effort to communicate and support one another from afar. we eagerly anticipate the reunion, to catch up, reminisce, and create new memories together.
distance makes the hearts grow fonder.
saying goodbye is not as difficult as it once was. it's not goodbye forever then.
we know we’ll meet again somewhere, sometime in this crazy journey we call life.
so take care, my dear friends, till our paths cross again.
